ICIB leads the modernisation of the cultural sector with a grants programme of up to €420,000

The institute increases its investment in the technological transformation of the Balearic creative industries by 40%

With the aim of modernising the production system of the Balearic cultural sector, ICIB presented this Tuesday a new call for grants designed to support not only the renewal of technical equipment but also the application of new technologies in the sector’s development, as well as the implementation of digital transformation processes within the cultural industries. The total budget for this year amounts to €420,000, representing a 40% increase compared to the €300,000 allocated for this programme in 2024.

Through this support, both self-employed professionals and companies will be able to cover, for example, investments in audiovisual machinery, software licenses, or the design of websites and digital environments. This year, the grant will also cover expenses related to training directly connected to the objectives of the call.

Diana de la Cuadra, Managing Director of the institute, noted that “this is a fundamental support to ensure the adoption of new technologies in the creation of cultural products.” She added that “it is vital to support the ongoing evolution of the Balearic cultural sector, as well as its continuous modernisation.”

It should be noted that the maximum amount each beneficiary may receive under this grant is €25,000, which can cover up to 50% of the total budget excluding VAT, as recognised by ICIB. The deadline for submitting applications is fifteen working days from the day after the call is published in the BOIB.
