The ICIB thus strengthens the internationalization of this discipline, boosting the presence of regional films at globally recognized events
The funding for the call, initially €150,000, rises to €300,000 to meet the needs of a growing sector
The Balearic Islands Institute of Cultural Industries (ICIB) formalized this Thursday a significant increase in funding for its support of the international promotion of audiovisual projects. With the aim of covering a constantly expanding sector, the institute has doubled the amount allocated to the export of this discipline, specifically increasing it from €150,000 to €300,000 for the current grant call.
It is worth noting that, with this support, the ICIB particularly enhances the international impact of regional audiovisual productions. Thanks to this boost, the sector will have substantial backing to consolidate a series of milestones of notable industrial relevance. As highlighted by ICIB Managing Director Diana de la Cuadra, “2025 has been a great year for Balearic cinema, and therefore some productions will have a significant presence at internationally renowned festivals.” According to the institute’s head, this increase in funding will multiply the potential of an industry that is already establishing itself beyond the Balearic Islands.”
It is also important to mention that the online application process has been reopened via the CAIB Electronic Headquarters. In this way, applicants can submit the necessary documentation either until December 31, 2025 (inclusive) or until the mentioned budgeted funding is exhausted.
