The Government launches a new free training program to promote a more open, inclusive, and accessible culture

With this course, the ICIB will offer the keys to universal design for the audiovisual, music, performing arts, visual arts, podcast, and publishing sectors

The program will take place at Ca n’Oleo from November 3 to 6

The Institute of Cultural Industries of the Balearic Islands (ICIB) announced this Tuesday one of the main pillars of its training activities. The institution has presented a new free program through which professionals from different cultural sectors will learn to incorporate inclusion and accessibility as central elements of their future projects. Led by filmmaker and researcher Miguel Ángel Font Bisier, the course will provide both theoretical foundations and practical tools to ensure that artistic productions reach all audiences.

The training, to be held entirely at Ca n’Oleo, will begin on November 3 with a general introductory session. During the afternoons of November 4, 5, and 6, it will go deeper into inclusion practices specific to the audiovisual, music, performing arts, visual arts, podcasting, and publishing fields. The program will also feature the collaboration of Vicente Alcoy Sapiña, an expert in marketing and cultural outreach who will contribute his personal and professional experience as someone living with retinitis pigmentosa, a condition that affects vision.

“The goal of this training is to provide real resources to creators in the Balearic Islands so that their projects can become more accessible,” said Diana de la Cuadra, Managing Director of the ICIB. She added that, in the long term, the initiative also aims to “transform the foundations of the regional industry to ensure that everyone can fully enjoy Balearic culture.”

Registrations for the course are open from today through this online form. Participation is completely free, and applications will be accepted until October 28 (inclusive). Once the training has been completed, participants will receive a comprehensive guide of best practices containing multiple solutions tailored to each artistic discipline.
