The Government reaffirms its commitment to cultural projects with a renewed grant call

Videopodcasts, board games and programming of live events: the three big novelties of a scheme that once more offers €575,000

The ICIB has published this Saturday a new call for grants in support of cultural projects in the archipelago. A redesigned proposal that, following the many meetings held between the entity and representatives from the sector, introduces a number of significant novelties compared to last year’s rules. Overall, the aim is to respond to the changing needs of an industry in constant evolution.

With a total credit of €575,000 once again, ICIB will continue to strengthen cultural development in the fields of performing arts, music, visual arts, the publishing world, and podcasts. But while this year the board games will be included under the publishing category, videopodcasts will also be incorporated under the podcast strand. These two updates are in addition to the creation of a sixth modality, that of cultural programming, through which the scenic and musical offerings across the autonomous territory will be enhanced.

“The objective of ICIB is to adapt the call to the current demands of the sector,” explained the managing director of the entity, Diana de la Cuadra. She also highlighted the importance of the videopodcast as “one of the great cultural platforms of modernity.” All in all, she noted that the cultural programming modality “will serve to multiply the presence of local artists on stages across the territory.”

It is noteworthy that, beyond the novelties already mentioned, the different agents in the sector will be able to use this aid to fund the production and restaging of live performances; the production, reedition and remastering of music projects; the realization of exhibition projects in plastic and visual arts; or the publishing (both physical and digital) of books and audiobooks. It should also be said that the deadline to submit applications for this call is twenty working days, counted from the day after its publication in the BOIB.
